#Aida's Manokan

A spur of the moment decision for my Mama and I today since we were about to eat lunch at 1 something in the afternoon or so: eat chicken inasal and lots of rice in Manokan Country.

Now Manokan Country is a strip of stalls and each stall serves their own version of chicken inasal but  we chose to eat in Aida's Manokan.

It's situated right in the middle of all the stalls but definitely not hard to miss. Yes, the place is small and it gets crowded; and No, it doesn't have airconditioning, just a few wall fans -- so don't expect fine dining here.

We ordered the Pecho (the breast part of the chicken) which I tell you is juicy right down to the core.

Garlic rice, lots of garlic rice. HAHA. For me, eating inasal equates to eating more than 1 cup of rice. *Burp*

This is how my plate looks like. A tower of garlic rice, a Pecho, and a stick of pork barbecue.

Now I know I should have taken more pictures but then my hands weren't as clean as they usually were. HAHA. There's nothing more indulging in eating Chicken Inasal (which Bacolod is known for a fact) than eating with your bare hands -- getting a piece of the chicken, dipping it in your calamansi + patis + sinamak sauce, and adding it into your rice before putting it into your mouth. Mmmm.

Aida's Manokan is located in Manokan Country, situated near SM Bacolod and the Reclamation Area. Fair warning though, there isn't much parking space in the area and once in a while, as you eat, vendors approach you to sell dvd's, wooden replicas of Mama Mary, and even hand towels. Just say No kindly, they'll get the point.

#Happy eating!
