#Balboa
I was waiting for my turn in the salon and out of impatience, I decided to check out Balboa and eat there instead. Talk about impulsiveness.
I really like the place because it's so inviting from the outside and I am attracted to the bright colors. Think Mediterranean meets shabby chic interiors.
I decided to have merienda since it was past 3 in the afternoon and to order rice would be inappropriate. Haha.
Fish and chips with mustard, ketchup, and mayonnaise dips. Hmmm.
Look at how big the chips are. It's crunchy on the outside and absolutely filled with fish on the inside. (Sounds like a commercial, but entirely true.)
Fries.
Dips. I'm very particular with dips so I think the mustard (or was it tartar) was a bit too salty for my taste buds. But it was a good complement to the chips.
A glass of lemonade. I should have ordered a pitcher since I asked for a few more glasses of water too.
Sansrival for dessert. It's too buttery for me so I ate like only half of it. Boo.
Balboa is located in Mayfair Plaza in Lacson Street. It was formerly Bistro Negrense according to one of the service crew. She also said that both restaurants are of the same owner and Balboa used to be located in Sorrento (just in front of Mayfair Plaza). The restaurant opens at 11am and closes at 10pm everyday.
Might have to go back here to try their steaks, pastas, and the seafood chowder which sounds appetizing.
#Happy eating!
