P1298

Every first week of February going to Jaro, Iloilo for the Candelaria is sort of an annual thing for my mom and I. And this year was no different from the other years (including taking home loads of JD Bakeshop stuff. Hehe.)

P1297

Uncle Tom's was one of the restaurants in Jaro that I haven't tried dining in. So I was bugging my mom to go eat there. Imagine us, walking from the place we stayed in (2 blocks away from the Jaro Cathedral) to Uncle Tom's with my phone on hand, because I was using my Google Maps to locate it.

P1296

That's my mom, very very stressed. She doesn't want to order so I did the choosing myself. Haha.

P1295

Baby Back Ribs for me. the coleslaw was so-so.

P1299
Breaded Fish Fillet for my mom, which she particularly liked. I love the food presentation.

Uncle Tom's had sort of an old-world feel, so I like the ambiance of the place. Although I think their service is a bit slow. There weren't that much customers when we came in but our orders came in after 30 minutes or so, you get the point, right? The prices of the food isn't that much to complain about since it was reasonable.

Uncle Tom's is located in 158 Ledesma Street Jaro, Iloilo and they have another branch along the Diversion Road in Mandurriao.

La Vista Highlands was one of the places my family and I visited during January. We aren't really a roadtrip-friendly kind of family so driving all the way to San Carlos was a pat on the back for all of us. Haha.

P1259

We took the Murcia - Don Salvador Benedicto (DSB) route going to San Carlos City just to pass by the amazing views. My mom doesn't want to go out of the car and she was nervous with the long and winding roads that we were driving on (Not road-trip friendly kind of family, right?) but we persuaded her to go out and take pictures with us. Amazing views are amazing.

La Vista Highlands Mountain Resort. We went there on a Sunday and surprisingly a lot of people were there too! We even had to park out car outside the premises.

Lunch at their restaurant (which were reasonably priced, I am surprised) and we ordered a lot of Filipino dishes. Well except for the Garlic Mushrooms which I ordered for myself. We had Calamares, Sinigang, Bangus Ala Pobre, and KBL - Kadyos, Baboy, and Langka - my ultimate favorite.

Other than being a resort hotel, La Vista Highlands offers Extreme Outdoor Sports Adventures such as ziplines and cable cars.

This is a late post. As well as the other posts that will follow. (HAHA.)

My family and I drove to Campuestuhan Highland Resort one sunny day in January. There are actually two ways to go there, and even if we live in Talisay, we made use of the Alangilan to Campuestuhan route.

Such a beautiful log cabin, I can't get enough pictures of.

You can see a variety of life size statues in the resort. The most "popular" are the superheroes that everyone takes turns taking pictures with. My Momsie who was visiting from Florida, tagged me around to take pictures of her with Hulk, Superman, and even Snow White and her 7 Dwarves. Lol.

Nikon_089

There's a swimming pool but I think it's generally for children.

Nikon_073

My parents getting all tourist-y. Hehe.

Nikon_083

Those cute igloo houses (reminds you of LOTR and the Hobbits' houses no?) and the view of the city below it. Damn.

Nikon_093

I was thinking of "highland", must be cold so I brought a scarf along -- only to figure out it was so hot there and I even got sunburned. Haha. Outfit of the day fail.

Nikon_098

The view from the cabin. It was a weekend so a lot of people were there.

Nikon_103

Mandatory picture along the entrance. Haha. Speaking of entrance, it was a bit expensive and you won't be able to appreciate its value if you don't swim.

Late post number number 4.

On the Sunday of the Masskara Weekend, my mom and I joined a tita and her family to go to Mambukal Resort, which was located in Murcia, a 45 minute to 1 hour drive from Bacolod City.

P1176

P1175

I was the designated driver. Pardon the paleness due to the lack of sleep. I loaded myself with coffee though. Hehe.

See, the Iphone 4s + Instagram filters make me a lazy photographer. Here are the nice photos I took using my phone.

Mon, 09 Jul 2012 10:06:00 -0700 #Manila http://dreamingofrevelry.posterous.com/manila http://dreamingofrevelry.posterous.com/manila

So my parents and I had a short trip to Manila last week. My dad came from an international flight and arrived in Manila late in the afternoon while my mom and I took a domestic flight from Bacolod to Manila.

All pictures from my Iphone since I did bring my camera but I never used it. Lousy me.

Here's my Manila experience (CHOS) in pictures.

P813

I always get the window seat whenever possible.

P815

Hello from me and mother (who prayed for the duration of the flight.)

P804

We arrived in Manila after two hours instead  of the usual one hour. I think there was much air traffic in NAIA at that time. This is the long line of people waiting for taxis.

P802

We stayed in Microtel Hotel which was conveniently located near SM Mall of Asia.

Good morning, Manila. What a great view outside my hotel room window.

36f0fdc0c63e11e1be6a12313820455d_7

An elevator GPOY is a must. Hihi.

P814

It was also the annual sale of Forever 21 (SM Megamall branch) and since there isn't any branch in Bacolod, yes, I have to go inside there and check out stuff (and purchase a few.)

1c0235a2c6a111e1985822000a1d011d_7

Happy lemon makes me happy. Cocoa with rocksalt and cheese. Yum!

P817

I'm so hungry already!

P809

My parents don't seem to mind the endless walking and walking. Ugh.

P800

Mussels for my parents. (Not in the picture: chicken wings, onion rings, pumpkin soup which I didn't take a picture of.)

P806

Three cheese ravioli for me.

The dreaded Manila traffic in the afternoon. I didn't take note how long was the travel time from Ortigas to Pasay.

City lights.

That's me chilling in the hotel lobby since it's the only area with free wifi.

P812

Some of my purchases which included books, shoes, and shirts/blouses.

P801

It was espadrilles heaven for my mother in Sueno de Espadrilles (SM Mall of Asia branch.)

0d36c240c6fb11e1a39b1231381b7ba1_7

Beautiful cloud formations, yes?

Be90d798c6fa11e181bd12313817987b_7

Look at all the bikers and how they form a single line. Cute.

P816

Starting to pack again and fix our stuff since we were leaving after lunch.

P811

This sort of reminded me of how Greece would look like if I went there (what an imagination. Haha.) but this is actually the roof deck of Microtel with the infinity pool that was really small and I was disappointed.

P810
My parents as we are about to go to Gate 133.

And that's all folks.

Fri, 08 Jun 2012 04:19:00 -0700 #Plantation Bay http://dreamingofrevelry.posterous.com/plantation-bay http://dreamingofrevelry.posterous.com/plantation-bay

So this is probably my one and only summer related post since I've been working in the hospital most of the time (since November 2011) .

I went to Plantation Bay Cebu with my parents for their wedding anniversary, and "the place is awesome" is quite an understatement if I may say so.

Here are just few of the pictures I took while we were there...

Nikon_003

While waiting in the New Bacolod-Silay Airport.

Nikon_004

It was raining heavily when we left Silay.

Nikon_006

View from the top.

Nikon_008

Welcome to Mactan, Cebu!

Nikon_011

The view outside Savannah Grill, one of the renowned restaurants inside Plantation Bay Cebu.

Nikon_017
Frankfurters with chili toppings and fries.

Nikon_018
Chicken kebab, rice, and atsara.

Nikon_027

Palermo Restaurant - Home of the best pastas and tapas (That's what's written on the signage outside.)

Nikon_030
My parents' anniversary dinner.

Nikon_031
Which I tagged along, of course.

Now for the awesome views that I believe cannot just be captured by the camera lens (you have to experience it on your own. Haha.)

Nikon_041
One of the lagoons where you can swim all day.

Nikon_057
Post-card worthy, yes?

Nikon_130
We rode a kalesa that gave us a tour around the place. What a cute horse.

Nikon_133

I think this was the lagoon in front of the reception area.

Nikon_172

Everything looks better at night.

Nikon_198

The poolside view outside our room.

My parents took the initiative to book a room in Plantation Bay Cebu online rather than get a travel agency to do all the work. Yes, the rooms (and probably everything else there) is rated in USD but it's worth it -- the amenities, the comfort, the view, and the staff.
